Harbourside sipping: The best coffee spots in Barangaroo

Thick, dark shots poured from Italian espresso machines, perfectly textured milk, that fragrant aroma of freshly roasted beans. Coffee lovers are in for a treat in Barangaroo.
Can’t start your morning without a cup of coffee?

Luckily for you Barangaroo is minutes away from anywhere in central Sydney and boasts several of the city’s best cups.

These coffee spots are perfect for pre-work pick-me-ups, long holiday brunches and takeaway fixes. Plus they’re right next to one of the most beautiful parts of Sydney, Barangaroo Reserve - the perfect place to recharge while you take in panoramic harbour views.

The Waiting Room

On the bottom level of one of Sydney’s most luxurious hotels just metres away from the harbour you’ll find the Waiting Room, a classy all-day eatery and bar - and one of the best restaurants in Barangaroo.

Here, with an unbelievable view of the water, their friendly staff serve champagne, elegant high teas and seriously good coffee. Their à la carte breakfast menu is the stuff of dreams too, with highlights of a fried egg and bacon brioche roll with grilled cheese, and an eggs benny with delicious Jamón and hash browns.

Wild Sage

Come later in the morning for an over-the-top bottomless brunch with free-flowing Aperol Spritz, or for a classic Aussie brunch and a serious cup of coffee. Whenever you visit Wild Sage you’ll find a generous, sunny al fresco dining area and a barista that knows their way around a bean.

If the weather’s fine grab your coffee takeaway and take the 15 minute walk along the waterfront to Barangaroo Reserve where you’ll discover several hectares of waterfront garden planted with Australian natives.

Shortstop coffee and donuts

Some things are simply meant to be together. Sweet and salty. Jack and Rose. Coffee and Donuts.

Shortstop coffee and donuts takes that match and perfects it, with donuts made fresh on site all day, and coffee sourced from local roasters, brewed by talented baristas. In our humble opinion you can’t beat the maple walnut and brown butter donut paired with a long black with cream!

Bourke St Bakery

Bourke St Bakery take their coffee seriously. They roast it fresh themselves with the help of the team at Sunny Coffee, before returning to their bakery to brew up a storm.

They’ll craft it however you like then serve it with Sydney’s best baked goodies. We’re talking lemon curd tarts, beef brisket and red wine pies and daily baked artisan sourdough breads and pastries.
